About

Welcome to London Autism Mum!

About me: I’m Clare! I started this blog due to my absolute love and curiosity for London. I’ve lived in London for over 20 years, and think one of it’s best assets is the fact it’s ever changing, and that you can never know it completely. It’s exciting!

I’ve been exploring baby/toddler options in London, since Little Man (LM) came along nearly 6 years ago, and now his Little Brother (LB) and with both likely to have an autism diagnosis, SEN and autism friendly places are a big part of our weekly lives. I want to share some of our best finds on a SEN or autism friendly perspective that might be able to help other families too.

My background: I completed a BA in Communications, Cultural and Media studies, and went on to study a MA in Radio at Goldsmiths in 2005, which was also accredited by the British Journalism Training Council (BJTC). I’ve always had a keen interest in photography and videography. I also trained as an OT and worked with adults, both within hospital and community settings.

Autism is definitely now a huge interest. It has to be, as it affects everything my children do, and I’ve wanted to learn about them as much as possible. I completed a “Level 2 in Understanding Autism” from the Skills Network in 2022.

I don’t share the kids faces or names (I stopped when LM was 2), as these are my accounts, from my perspective as their parent. They are too young to make this level of consent. Without judging others, I believe we can still be advocates for autism, without displaying our kids faces or names online.

Ways to work with me/us: For collaborations, please email lovinglivinglondon@yahoo.com or find us on Instagram/Tiktok @londonautismmum of course!

Thanks for stopping by,

Clare, LM and LB xx
